Victorville is formally known as Southern California Logistics Airport is located in the high desert at an elevation of 2885 ft. From 1941 to 1992, it was called George Air Force Base, was an important base for the United States Air Force. Today Victorville Airport is a large transitional facility for commercial aircraft and air cargo facility serving both domestic and international needs. The airport has two large runways and is controlled by a tower within Class D airspace.
