Bishop is an uncontrolled airport located in the Owens Valley at 4124 ft. For most of my life, my family and I have made yearly camping trips to Convict Lake and have hiked and fished many of the lakes and streams in the Bishop and Mammoth area. In September 2011, I had the privilege to go up in a Cessna 172 180 hp conversion and do a little mountain flying and high elevation takeoffs and landings at Bishop and Mammoth airport. Below are a couple pictures of Bishop Airport and the lower portion of the Owens River.
