Borrego airport is located in the Borrego Desert at an elevation of 520 ft. To the east of the airport, the direction we came from, the terrain rises up to 6533ft in a short distance making for a large descent. The airport is pretty much out in the middle of nowhere with a restaurant on the field and a couple resorts nearby.
