Gillespie Field in located in El Cajon within San Diego County. The airport has a control tower and is within Class D airspace. The airport is uniquely placed between hills on both the approach and departure ends of the runway. Coming from the north we were directed to enter a right base which took us around around the terrain. The airport has three runways: a set of parallel runways with different lengths and an intersecting runway for when the wind is out of the north or south.
